Irritability Before a Migraine Attack

Many people only think about the pain that occurs in their head that they experience during a migraine attack, there are quite a few associated symptoms. Some of these symptoms can occur before a headache begins and are used as warning signs by people who suffer from frequent migraines. If you have symptoms before your headache starts, you probably have classic migraines. These warning signs are often called auras. If you don’t have any symptoms before a migraine begins, you are most likely suffering from frequent migraines.

 

 

Usually, if you have classic migraines, you won’t have frequent migraines. However, on occasion, you may suddenly have one type of a migraine when you usually have the other. It does not matter the type of a migraine you have; many symptoms can develop because of an attack. Some are more common before an attack, while others can happen during all types of migraines.

Some of the lesser-recognized symptoms of migraine disease are Irritability and Anger. This sign comes before the migraine attack itself and serves as a warning of an impending migraine attack. This anger, impatience, and irritability are some of the most often misunderstood aspects of migraine disease for family members and friends. Many of us do not realize that these tendencies are related to our migraine attacks and cannot warn our loved ones of this, either. It is not uncommon for those closest to us to perceive us as having a bad or nasty attitude that comes out of nowhere. The reality is that it can be tough for us to control this tendency, especially when we haven’t yet made any association between these symptoms and our migraine attacks.

While you may not be able to control whether you experience it, you can control how you react and whether you let it take over and change your personality.

A combination of immediate rest, medication, and a dark, quiet room will often help reduce the impact of an approaching migraine. Prevention is always better than cure folks.
