I received my first migraine when I was 12 years old. I was with my mother and we were out and about and all of a sudden my head was in so much pain and I ended up vomiting in the parking lot behind the car.
That was a fun start at adolescence. My mother also gets migraines as well, hers are with aura, mine are not, but I have had optical headaches as well, and that’s a trip when those come on.
My daughter now has severe headaches as well and hers are with aura, it’s as if the aura migraines skipped a generation, so I’m guessing that if my daughter has a daughter she won’t have an aura just migraines like me.
I have, of course, tried everything from wrapping anything around my head as tight as I can to different vitamins to keep the attacks away.
There is one thing that I have found that has been most beneficial to me is progesterone cream, an acquaintance told me about this, she stated it had been working for her migraines, so I decided to give it a go.
It has stopped my monthly migraines, I still get one here and there but not like before. I actually did stop the progesterone and when I started getting migraines all the time again, knew I had made a mistake. I started using the progesterone cream again and have had fewer severe headaches than before again.
